Planning Update

Thank you to everyone who wrote in support of the new Design Museum’s recent planning applications. We are delighted to let you know that both were approved. So that means that the museum’s opening hours will be everyday, with occasional evening openings and that the guiding principles for re-modelling the inside of the building have been approved.

The museum submitted its second listed building application in May, which provides more detailed information on the interior fit out. A decision from the planning committee is expected in summer this year.

The next phase of further design work is expected to resume in autumn 2012.
